We’re in those cold, foggy and bleak months now, counting down the days until the most special time of the year. It’s a time when we really learn to appreciate our humble abode, keeping us cosy and bringing families together.
It’s a time when a lot of people want to make their nest their own and bring it to life, making it the perfect place to be stuck in for months until we’re past the worst of the big chill.
If you happen to be one of those people then this blog could be of great use to you! Here at Thrillz, you can find expert advice and useful tips on how to decorate for the winter months from an expert in the field.
In case you aren’t familiar with her, Amanza Smith is a professional interior designer and real estate agent for The Oppenheim Group, which receives significant attention within the real estate community and beyond. The brokerage is the focus of the hit Netflix original series, Selling Sunset.
Despite her passion for interior design and dedication to her work, Amanza found fame elsewhere though as she began a successful career in modeling and entertainment, including a position as an NFL cheerleader for the Indianapolis Colts, features in many magazines, television commercials, and two seasons of the hit NBC game show Deal or No Deal.
Since then, the down-to-earth darling has returned to her first love, interior design. Amanza has decorated and staged homes for Hollywood’s elite, and most recently has joined the Oppenheim brothers as an in-house interior design expert.
What’s inspiring about Amanza is her story. Unlike most of the cast of realtors, she wasn’t always around million dollar homes. She actually got her knack for interior decorating because she was forced to be creative with what little she had. Smith is open about her childhood of having grown up in a trailer park, having revealed on the show how her low-income background affected her creativity and inspired her to become an interior designer.
Having worked from the bottom to get where she is, she now enjoys life as a role model mother as well as interior designer. Part of what drives her passion is not only her creativity but the fact she is always trying to provide the best life for her children, regarding raising them as a single mother, her proudest achievement.
Amanza's Winter Interior Design Tip
“Plush house slippers, spiced apple cider, cinnamon stick branches and an amazing faux fur blanket! Also a really good smelling holiday candle!”
Amanza’s advice on turning your home into a cosy winter home you won’t want to leave includes spiced apple cider, whichever form it be in. Spiced apple cider candles give your home a warm aroma, but they’re not too sweet that it makes you hungry! Cinnamon stick branches add to the aroma and feel of winter.
Any really good smelling candle can dictate the feel of your home, so get a hold of a good branded one.
And what cosy winter home wouldn’t be complete without some nice plush house slippers. Make comfort key. A good quality faux fur rug goes a really long way as well, as long as you don’t have messy pets!
Hopefully you’ve found this post insightful and it’s left you feeling more excited about redesigning your household as we take on the last leg of 2020. Amanza may be the queen when it comes to interior design but you don’t have to be a qualified expert to make your home perfect. Let your creativity and inspiration take control!
