Archie Curzon rose to prominence with mockumentary Don’t Drop the Egg, alongside co-stars Ollie and Freddie. He’s the alter ego of comedian Orry Gibbens, who has fully immersed himself in this beloved persona. But Archie Curzon’s real name isn’t important — his remarkable success is.

Don’t Drop the Egg followed three upstanding, privately educated members of local rugby club Clapham Falcons RFC (including the man himself). This comedy introduced the world to Curzon’s unique brand of intelligence, business acumen, and powerful people skills.

Archie Curzon and the Story of More Lash Brewery

There’s more to Curzon than his witty conversation and charm — he’s also a dedicated entrepreneur.

More Lash Brewery is one of Curzon’s most recent ventures, launched in 2020. As the company’s chairman, Curzon freely admits on the website that most of the money generated by sales will fund his “five bed house in Clapham Old Town”.

However, he also highlights the project’s noble mission: supporting Restart Rugby, official charity of The Rugby Players Association (RPA), with a portion of proceeds.

Restart Rugby offers players and their families support (practical and financial) during challenging times. The charity covers the expense of medical treatment, disability support, and rehabilitation equipment when required.

Archie Curzon’s Other Endeavours

Curzon continues to pack his schedule with a plethora of pursuits beyond hosting a podcast, overseeing a brewery, and acting as CEO/Chairman/Chief Chat Officer/Mayor of Clapham.

As fans may know, Archie Curzon tours as a self-help guru. His courses, the AAABBBCCC, are designed to empower those “who weren’t lucky enough to go to private school and haven’t got any chat.”

This is another well-intentioned project that allows Curzon to pass his wisdom and life lessons on to others who may not yet have achieved his level of success.

Curzon and the Quest for Christmas Number One

Curzon also took on many giants of the music charts to claim the UK’s highly popular Christmas Number One position. In 2020, Curzon and his podcast co-host Freddy announced their plans to succeed with what The Mirror referred to as “the posh version of Band Aid”.

The single, “It’s Christmas Time (It’s Time To Lash)”, was created to help raise more money for Restart Rugby. Various stars from the world of sport and entertainment featured on the track, including former England rugby player James Haskell, Mamma Mia!’s Jeremy Irvine, and former England cricketer Darren Gough MBE.
