Davina Potratz is an esteemed real estate agent and actress known for her role on the Netflix hit reality show Selling Sunset. With over 10 years of experience in real estate, Davina now joins the prestigious Oppenheim Group as a Broker and Director of the New Development Division, focusing primarily on new development sales. Davina's character is known for being direct, honest and genuine, making her a popular public figure to fans worldwide.
Early Life
Since a young age, the reality star was always interested and passionate about real estate and architecture. Davina Potratz was born in Germany, and studied at the International School of Hamburg where she achieved her International Baccalaureate. Davina moved to Malibu where she attended Pepperdine University to continue her studies in trading and real estate.
Before dedicating her life's work to luxury real estate, Davina Potratz spent a decade modelling for Ford Model Agency, where she travelled to over 40 countries, living in London, Milan and New York. Amongst many talents, Davina can speak both German and English fluently, with a keen interest in art and beach volleyball.
Joining the Oppenheim Group
Davina Potratz began her career in real estate in 2006. She built up an impressive repertoire working abroad and establishing robust client connections, attending property shows globally and becoming a recognised name, with a background in development sales and marketing.
One of Davina's biggest deals to date was in 2008, during the height of a difficult economy. According to the O Group, she contracted and sold "one of the most expensive condominiums in LA". Her property transactions were featured in LA Times and Million Dollar Listing, to name a few, and according to the Top Agent Network, Davina represents the top 10% of agents in the industry.
She joined the Oppenheim Group in Match 2018, which boasts luxury listings in LA, from West Hollywood to The Valleys.
Davina Potratz on Selling Sunset
Davina joined the Oppenheim Group and subsequently featured in Selling Sunset season two (2019). She joined fellow co-stars Christine Quinn, Mary Fitzgerald, Heather Rae Young and Maya Vander.
In season three, Davina's biggest plotline was listing a $75 million dollar house on the market, which bosses Jason and Brett Oppenheim were fundamentally opposed to, believing it was overvalued. This caused a rift between the selling sunset cast members, and eventually resulted in Jason Oppenheim and Davina falling out.
Davina Potratz left the Oppenheim Group, announcing that she had other projects she wanted to focus on. In the interim, she joined the rival real estate firm, Douglas Elliman, based in Beverly Hills.
The star dropped a few hints to friend on the show, Christine Quinn, that she wasn't keen on working at the Oppenheim Group anymore; although this wasn't due to the drama. In fact, Davina told People magazine in an exclusive interview that this was a "purely business decision" and that it was a "wonderful opportunity" to have worked for the O Group.
Selling Sunset Season 4: The Return of Davina Potratz
In the opening episode of Selling Sunset season four, Jason announced that they would be hiring a replacement for Davina Potratz, claiming they were "too busy to have empty desks". This gave rise to the reveal of two new agents: Vanessa Villela (originally from Mexico) and Emma Hernan (a former agent at the Oppenheim Group).
However, in the third episode of the fourth season, Davina made a comeback. Potratz told Quinn that she was keen to return to the O Group, claiming that her new job as part of Douglas Elliman had finished. Despite the drama that occurred, Jason admitted that Davina was a very "valued agent" and a "tremendous asset" to the team. However, there were mixed reviews from colleagues as to whether she should be reinstated.
What's Next for Davina Potratz?
Although the star might not be re-joining the Selling Sunset cast, Davina has been given a new position at the Oppenheim Group. With her experience in the international property market, Davina's new role is part of the sophisticated and global New Development Division. The former model has expressed that she is keen to continue as a reality TV star and real estate agent, perhaps even alongside Douglas Elliman.…
