Katie Price, known infamously as 'Jordan', is a former glamour model turned British media personality. A self-made pop culture phenomenon, Katie was once the most successful page three girl to be featured in The Sun. Since her modelling days, Katie has become a marketing, self-promoting genius and a savvy businesswoman in her own right.

Katie Price: Early Life

Born Katrina Amy Alexandra Alexis Infield in Brighton, East Sussex, in Southeast England, Katie Price was the only child of Amy and Ray Infield. Her father left the family when she was just four years old, and in 1988 her mother remarried builder, Paul Price, after which Katie acquired the surname: Price. She has an older half-brother named Daniel and a younger half-sister named Sophie.

During her childhood, Katie developed a love for horses and horse-riding. She also began modelling as a child and modelled for a clothing line at age 13. It was when Katie was 17 that she changed her name to Katie Price. After one of her friend’s suggestions, Katie had some professional photographs taken and decided to pursue a career in modelling. The pictures were sent to a modelling agency in London and then in 1996, Katie appeared as ‘Jordan’ on page 3 in the British newspaper The Sun.

The Beginning of Katie’s Media Career

Katie had made a few appearances on television programs but it was when she appeared as a contestant on the third series of I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! that she started to make headlines. It was on this show, shown during January and February 2004, that she met Peter Andre, whom she would eventually marry. Katie went back to appear on the 2009 series of I’m a Celebrity, but left voluntarily after just one week due to constantly being nominated to take part in the Bushtucker trials.

The pair married in September 2005 and went on to have two children together, a son, Junior Savva Andreas in June 2005 and a daughter, Princess Tiaamii Crystal Esther in June 2007. In May 2009 the pair announced that they were separating and divorced in September 2009. One of their most famous (and romantic!) moments was recording a rendition of the Disney Aladdin song "A Whole New World" in 2006, which is still a classic to this day.

Katie’s Other Relationships

Katie Price's husbands have been a source of tabloid interest from the beginning. In July 2009, Katie began dating MMA fighter and actor Alex Reid. They separated in March 2021, and a year later Katie married her third husband, Kieran Hayler. The couple renewed their wedding vows, but despite this romantic account, they divorced in 2018.

Katie then got engaged to Kris Boyson in July 2019, although they split a month later. The glamour model and reality star began dating Love Island 2016 star, Carl Woods, in 2020. Katie and Carl announced their engagement after the pandemic in March 2021; Katie also revealed unofficially that baby number six was on the way!

The wonderful mother, Katie Price, has five children. She gave birth to her first child, son Harvey, in May 2002. His father is retired footballer, Dwight Yorke. Harvey was found to be blind, and also diagnosed with septo-optic dysplasia, autism and to have Prader-Willi syndrome.

Katie's first daughter, Princess, and second son, Junior, remain under shared custody with their father, Peter Andre. Katie Price later gave birth to her third son, Jett Riviera Hayler. Then on 4th August 2014, she gave birth to her second daughter, Bunny Hayler. The Price family are very present in the limelight, with Princess and Harvey almost as famous as their mum.

Katie Price: Life in Showbiz

Katie has been the subject of a huge amount of reality television shows that follow her life. This started with a trio of Channel 4 documentaries entitled ‘Jordan: The Truth About Me’ in 2002, ‘Jordan: The Model Mum’ and ‘Jordan: You Don’t Even Know Me’, which was followed by ‘Jordan Gets Even’ all in 2004.

She later appeared in the documentary ‘Jordan: Living With a Dream’ and then launched the ‘Katie & Peter’ franchise on ITV2 which documented the lives of Katie and Peter together. It also included several fly-on-the-wall spin off series. The pair’s separation in 2009 resulted in their individual shows being recorded including ‘What Katie Did Next’.

Katie was also the runner-up in the selection contest for a representative for the UK at the 2005 Eurovision Song Contest. She also released her debut studio album 'A Whole New World' in collaboration with Peter Andre in 2006. Katie has also been an occasional panelist on UK talk show Loose Women since 2006. Additionally, in 2015, Katie appeared on the fifteenth series of Celebrity Big Brother, which she went on to win.

A Businesswoman In Her Own Right

Katie Price published three autobiographies: ‘Being Jordan’ in 2004, which has sold over one million copies; ‘Jordan: A Whole New World’, and ‘Pushed to the Limit’ in 2008. She has also had two novels published in her name, which were all ghostwritten, entitled ‘Angel’ and ‘Crystal’. Another, ‘Sapphire’, was published in 2009.

In 2006, Katie Price signed a £300,000 deal with Random House publishers to release a series of books, under the heading ‘Katie Price's Perfect Ponies’.

Katie has also launched her own equestrian clothing brand, along with multiple perfumes, makeup and skincare products.

Katie's eldest and first child, Harvey, is a loveable character and she is extremely proud of him. In 2019, upon lots of online trolling towards Harvey, Katie won the backing of a parliamentary committee for Harvey’s Law, a proposed law that makes it illegal to troll or abuse others online.

Katie Price openly admitted that she has surgery to maintain her physique and youthful face, from liposuction to cosmetic surgery. As she is regularly in the media and still occasionally models, the star likes to always look and feel her best.

In August 2021, Katie filmed a before and after YouTube video to educate people on cosmetic surgery, the effects and recovery process. She encourages viewers of the video "to do their research" before they commit to something so life-changing. After the treatment, Katie said "I am so happy with the results!" and credits her team: Comfort Zone and Dr Kerim.
