Pat Sharp, born Patrick Sharpin, was born on 25th October 1961. He is an English radio, television presenter and DJ. He is best known in the UK for his work on the children’s ITV programme, Fun House and also for his extensive radio career. He was better known in Europe during the 1980s as one of the Sky Channel’s VJs and for presenting the Coca-Cola Eurochart Top 50 and the Nescafé UK Top 50.

Pat Sharp first worked as a presenter at BBC Radio 1, he presented his first daytime show for the station at the age of just 20, back in 1982. He had a regular early Sunday morning slot whilst also covering for other radio presenters when on holiday. He also made numerous television appearances hosting BBC1’s Top of the Pops. He also stood in for David Jensen on The Network Chart Show. In the mid 1980’s Pat became a DJ for Radio Mercury, he has also worked for the British Forces Broadcasting Service. Following a year on air at BBC Radio 1, from 1987 Pat was a DJ on Capital FM for over a decade. This was followed by 11 years at Heart.

In the late 1980s, Pat teamed up with Mick Brown as part of the infamous Stock Aitken Waterman duo ‘Pat and Mick’. They released two charity singles “Let’s All Chant” and “I Haven’t Stopped Dancing Yet” which both made it to the Top 20 of the UK singles charts. The pair released five hit singles making the Top 75, raising more than a million pounds for charity.

In 1987, Pat Sharp was in the top three DJs at the Smash Hits Poll Winners Party. He was also voted as having the worst haircut! He also picked up a gold Sony Award in 1992 for best DJ.

Between 1997 and 2004, Pat Sharp presented Heart 106.2’s weekday morning ‘Time Tunnel’ show. Pat then went on to host the Century FM group of stations. In December 2010 Pat joined Smooth Radio to host the ‘Weekend Breakfast’ show. He was officially appointed as the station’s presenter in January 2011. In January 2013 Pat became the station’s weekday afternoon presenter after a huge schedule change at Smooth. He replaced Carlos who moved to weeknight shows.

Smooth Radio had since been acquired by Global Radio. In 2013, following a studio and business move to Global’s headquarters in Leicester Square, Pat Sharp and David Jensen were then dropped from the schedules on 19th December 2013. Pat then began broadcasting on the Breeze network New Year’s Eve 2013. He now appears regularly on Sam FM south coast.

In 2018, Pat covered the mid-morning show on Southampton-based Hampshire Hit Radio for a week. He has also covered the Guildford-based Eagle Radio in recent years. Pat also heads up ‘All The Hits’, a weekly syndicated radio show produced by Blue Revolution, which is broadcast on various stations around the globe.

Since February 2019, Pat has been presenting a radio show on Greatest Hits Radio, as well as P8 Pop in Norway.

Pat Sharp's TV career kicked off with several children’s television programmes which aired as a daytime show on CITV. Most notably of these shows is Fun House, a popular children’s TV show which ran from 1989 to 1999 and was produced bt Scottish Television. He presented Fun House along with Melanie and Martina Grant and also presented alongside Matt Penn. Pat was also a presenter on the Saturday morning show ‘What’s Up Doc’ from 1992-94 and phone-in quiz show ‘Hang On!’ in 1996.

Pat has made numerous Top of the Pops appearances over the years. He was also one of the many presenters on the last programme. During 1987-88 he presented ITV show The Roxy, and in 1990-91 he presented daily chart show The Power Chart on BSB satellite music TV channel The Power Station.

Pat Sharp has also participated in multiple different TV shows throughout the years, from ‘Come Dine With Me’ to ‘I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’ During the latter show, Pat competed alongside US actress Stefanie Powers, Mark Wright, Dougie from McFly and Willie Carson amongst others.
