French actor, model and reality TV star, Romain Bonnet, is best-known for his role on the Netflix hit-show, Selling Sunset. He is the husband of fellow Selling Sunset star, Mary Fitzgerald, and now an official member at the Oppenheim Group – the brokerage which specialises in luxury properties based in Los Angeles.
Romain Bonnet: Early Life
Romain Bonnet was born June 18, 1993 and raised in France. Bonnet initially showed talent as a pastry chef, before moving to Hollywood to become a model. Romain was quickly listed as a Wilhelmina model, one of the world's most prestigious agencies to date. He boasts several skills making him a desirable client, such as rock climbing, ice-skating, archery, scuba and more.
A Rising Star
Before joining the cast and his future wife, Mary Fitzgerald, Romain had a few notable acting roles. His debut performance was in an episode of the French TV series "Des Paroles et Des Actes" in 2011.
Romain's next casting would be on Selling Sunset, as well as the celebrity game show "Game Night with the Hamiltons" starring the Love is Blind contestants, David Hamilton and Lauren Speed. From here, the only was up.
Joining Selling Sunset
Romain Bonnet joined Selling Sunset in season one. His modeling agency encouraged him to join the show when they started filming in 2019 because of all the bookings in the LA area.
From the first episode of the luxurious reality TV series, Romain was a key member of the cast and storylines. Mary and Romain's relationship and age difference was a hot topic, leaving viewers on the edge of their seat.
How did Romain Bonnet and Mary Fitzgerald Meet?
When Romain first moved to Hollywood, Mary Fitzgerald was his agent. The couple were together from the offset, and Romain became Mary's boyfriend in 2019. Their relationship hit some bumps in the road, especially due to the 12-year age gap between the two.
Mary revealed on the show that Romain was closer in age to her son, Austin, which worried her initially. However, Mary told Screen Rant in an exclusive interview that they "don't really think about it" now. Despite becoming Mary's husband, Romain Bonnet does not assume the role of stepdad to Austin, but the two are very close and he acts like a role model.
When did Romain and Mary get married?
The highlight of season two on Selling Sunset was Mary and Romain's wedding attended by the cast, friends and family. There was a huge build up to this monumental day, and the couple were happily married by best friend, Nicole.
However, the new couple actually got properly married behind the scenes, arranging a civil union 2 years prior. Although they consider the season two finale their "official wedding date". The reason they chose to keep it a secret from friends and fans was to make sure their relationship was the real deal.
What are Romain's hobbies?
The Selling Sunset star enjoys anything sports-related, like soccer, swimming and running. Bonnet also enjoys snowboarding on the slopes.
As a former pastry chef, Romain also enjoys cooking; although Mary confirmed in an interview with Women's Health that he "hasn't worked as a chef for years now".
During the whole quarantine period, Romain had to pause a few modelling gigs until further notice. However, as a public figure, Bonnet records and sends personalised video messages to his fans on Thrillz to keep active.
Does Romain Bonnet have Instagram?
Romain is very active on social media, especially his Instagram account: @theromainbonnet which has over 315K followers. He posts various photos together with Mary and his modeling snaps.
